Introduction: Iron deficiency is listed among the most numerous nutritional diseases in the world. The pharmaceutical market has a wide variety of medicines containing iron compounds, thus it is fundamental to study and develop new methods of analysis in order to prove their outmost quality.
Purpose of study: This study aims to determine whether the quantity of iron (III) in the pharmaceutical forms taken for analysis is equivalent to the concentration specified by the manufacturer.
Materials and methods: The quantitative analyses of iron (III) in the pharmaceutical forms taken for the study was determined using the standard addition method at an acid and alkaline pH using sulfosalicylic acid as the reagent. The obtained data was analyzed mathematically and graphically. 
Results: After the statistical analysis, the concentration of iron (III) in Ferimax syrup was found to be 45,00 +- 2,23 mg/5ml in acidic and 50,11 +- 0,5 mg/5ml in alkaline mediums after the mathematical data analysis. Using the graphical method the concentration of iron (III) is 43,75mg/5ml at acidic and 50,60 mg/5ml at alkaline pH. For Ferrum Lek, the iron concentration was 50,68+-0,73 at alkaline pH, and 50,60 mg/5ml at alkaline pH using the graphical method of calculation. 
Conclusions: According to the results obtained from the study, the concentration of iron (III) in Ferimax syrup in acidic medium was lower than the reference of the label, while in basic medium both Ferimax and Ferrum Lek syrups have the expected concentration.

Introducere
Fierul joaca un rol important in activitatea vitala a organismului uman precum transportul oxigenului, sinteza acidului dezoxiribonucleic (ADN), transportul electronilor, asigurarea sintezei hormonilor steroizi, etc. El este o parte structurala importanta a hemoglobinei, mioglobinei si a multor enzime. In cazul insuficientei acestuia, in organism apar simptome precum oboseala cronica, scaderea capacitatii de concentrare, scaderea rezistentei la stres si la infectiile microbiene, deficiente de crestere si dezvoltare fizica, uscarea pielii, etc. [1]. Pentru inlaturarea acestor simptome, medicii recomanda inclusiv si administrarea preparatelor farmaceutice, care contin un complex format din hidroxidul de fier (III) cu reteaua moleculara a polimaltozei [2]. Conform Protocolului clinic national ,,Anemia fierodeficitara la copil" aprobat prin ordinul Ministerului Sanatatii al Republicii Moldova nr. 442 din 10.04.2013, printre preparatele de fier indicate in tratamentul anemiei la copii se include si complexul de hidroxid de Fe(III) cu polimaltoza in forma de sirop, solutie sau comprimate. [3]
Moleculele polinucleare ale hidroxidului de fier (III) sunt inconjurate de moleculele de polimaltoza cu care formeaza un agreagat macromolecular stabil. In asa mod, fierul fiind neionizat nu interactioneaza cu alimentele si nu formeaza specii reactive de oxigen care ar actiona negativ asupra tractului gastro-intestinal. [4] Structura complexului este similara cu cea a feritinei, proteina prezenta in organism. Datorita acestei asemanari fierul (III) din complex se absoarbe prin mecanism activ. Oricare proteina ce leaga fierul din tractul gastrointestinal si de pe suprafata epiteliului il poate capta prin mecanismul de schimb concurential al ligandului[5].
Administrarea fierului in complex cu polimaltoza are avantaje mai ales cand vorbim despre o frecventa mai scazuta a reactiilor adverse in comparatie, spre exemplu, cu sulfatul de fier[6]. Prin urmare, elaborarea metodelor de analiza cantitativa a fierului ramane actuala. Ele au scopul de a asigura calitatea formelor farmaceutice. Obiectivul studiului expus in continuare a constat in elaborarea metodelor de analiza cantitativa a Fe (III) in citeva forme farmaceutice lichide prin metoda fotometrica a adaosului standard folosind acidul sulfosalicilic.
