The atom (fig 1) is the smallest particle of a chemical element that contains all the physical and chemical properties. Being the smallest particle, it is chemically condivisible but divisible in physical processes. But the molecule is the smallest amount of substance that can exist in the free state and which owns a mix of properties. Atoms and molecules are moving permanently to the movement of atoms causing both chemical and physical reactions.
